Created the tarball for Alpha 4, so that is now released:

Download page for Salasaga 0.8.0 Alpha 4

Began creating a Debian (Intrepid) package for Alpha 4, using Iulian's Alpha 3 work for the base.  Hopefully have it finished and ready this weekend.

Successfully merged the three individual modules together, and they compile and install (from source) fine.  This has been done in Subversion too, so these changes are available to all.  There's not enough time left tonight to create the Alpha 4 tarball though.

Tried creating a new Alpha 4 tarball tonight, but because (two of) the individual subversion modules now use automake, things didn't go very well.  It looks like the best approach will be to merge all three of the modules together into one, then put it all under automake control.  There's not enough time to do that tonight however.

Tagged the main subversion modules for Alpha 4 tonight, but haven't had time to create a new tarball yet nor update the packaging files.  That will have to be a task for tomorrow. :)

Still fixing memory leaks and similar each day to and from work.  Should be ready to release Alpha 4 this weekend, so it can be packaged and workable for the upcoming Ubuntu Intrepid. :)

Learning how to use valgrind in order to find and fix memory leaks.  Going ok so far, mainly fixing the simple and easy to find ones for the moment. :)

Removed the Bitstream Vera fonts, as they weren't being used fully, and it was causing confusion for packagers.  At present, Salasaga only uses one single specially crafted font outline, created from a single one of the font faces.  People have pointed out that the DejaVu fonts include more characters than the Bitstream Vera ones, so now Salasaga includes a specially crafted font outline created from the DejaVu Sans font (mandatory for inclusion for Salasaga to work).

Finally got a chance to look into why extended characters weren't being output in swf.  Looks like the wrong ming functions were being called, the non-unicode ones.  After updating them to the unicode equivalents, the output swf now includes extended characters.  Updated code has been commited to the SF.net repository, which should fix bug # 246772.

First day of using my new-new laptop (ASUS M51Vr, rather than the recently returned Dell) on the train on the way to work.  Added the requested new output resolutions.
