Have been fixing minor things on and off for the past week and a bit, and today fixed LP bug # 493312. Pressing the delete key when a layer or slide is selected will delete that layer or slide, depending upon which part of the gui has focus.
This is the latest development snapshot, and we're now only waiting for the final translated language strings before releasing 0.8.0-Alpha6.

Updated the text layer dialog and swf export to use the new default font face, size and foreground colour settings. This should (in theory) fix LP bug # 492388.
Also added units of measurement to the Edit -> Preferences dialog, for consistency with the other dialogs.
Fixed a minor bug in the film strip creation code, so now the vertical scroll bar isn't displayed unless needed.

Added selection options for default text layer font face, font size, and foreground font colour, to the Edit -> Preferences dialog. This is in preparation for using these defaults with text layers, to fix newly reported LP bug # 492388.

Added initial support for setting the screenshot key in Compiz. It works on my development system, but unsure how well it will work on other peoples, as the strings that Compiz are using appear to belong to Metacity. (maybe some compatibility thing on my system?)
Also did some work to address a crashing bug with imported screenshots.
Changed the spin buttons in the "Image crop" and "New project" functions to be sliders.
Added a new Layer -> Image resize option.
Unless serious new bugs show up before release, I'm considering this source code now "frozen for translation":
