I just downloaded this program and so far it looks like just exactly what I was looking for. The only hang u pI am having is how do you make the slides fade in and out. I was looking for something like they faded in for 3 seconds, displayed three seconds and faded out for 3 seconds.

I am on an Ubuntu 9.10 system. I am using this version of Salasaga 0.8.0-alpha5

Thanks

Cool.  We're still getting basic features in place, but it does do fades in and out. Smiley

To turn on fading in an out for a layer, go into it's Edit dialog (ie by double clicking on it).

Then change to the "Duration" tab.  In there, you'll see "Start how" and "Exit how" options.  (they could be named better)

Change those to "Fade in" and "Fade out" respectively, and give a time value for each with the sliders below, and voila, you have fades.

Is this what you're looking for?

Thank you for the quick response. I found that feature. The problem that I was having was that I changed my photos to a .png (because that was what I though I needed). then I imported them for a background image. I couldn't fade the background in and out. It looks like if I leave the background a solid color and then put the photos on that, then I can fade the photo in and out.

Thanks for the help that was just what I needed to get over the hump. Cool program, thanks

Cool, no worries. Smiley

Yeah, good point about background layers not having fade in and fade out ability.  I was under the mistaken impression that SWF didn't support transparency of background layer, but it definitely does.

Someone reported a brief bug about this a while back, so I've just fleshed out the bug report for it.  It's not the highest priority to fix, but it'll get done:

Thanks for explaining things clearly btw, I personally find that really helps me know what to look into and the situation(s) you're meaning.
