Hi all Smiley

Congrats for this soft wich will be great for elearning uses !

I'm on ubuntu 8.10 and i have already alpha 4 installed. I want to try the alpha5... i have dowloaded it, unpack it, and when i run autogen i have this in the terminal :

..elearning/salasaga-0.8.0~alpha5$ ./autogen.sh
./autogen.sh: line 3: aclocal : commande introuvable
./autogen.sh: line 4: autoheader : commande introuvable
./autogen.sh: line 6: autoconf : commande introuvable
./autogen.sh: line 7: automake : commande introuvable

(introuvable means "unfoundable" (can't find) some one has got any suggestions ?

Thanks a lot !!!

Regards,

pepe

Hi Pepe,

No worries.  Please bear in mind that Salasaga is still a work in progress, so there are a lot more things it needs to do (and will do) over time.

For the problem you mention, this should help:

  http://www.salasaga.org/wiki/index.php/HowToInstallOnUbuntu

It was written up for a slightly older version of Salasaga, but it's still the same process and info, so you should easily be able to make sense of it.

If that doesn't help, please let us know. Smiley

Regards and best wishes,

Hi Justin,

Thanks a lot for your answer !

I have installed ming-0-4-2, and trying following the instruction of the wiki but when i run make i have a lot of deprecated... :

[...]
export/swf/export_swf_control_bar.c:440: attention : ‘compileSWFActionCode’ is deprecated (declared at /usr/local/include/ming.h:611)
export/swf/export_swf_control_bar.c:530: attention : ‘SWFButton_addShape’ is deprecated (declared at /usr/local/include/ming.h:663)
export/swf/export_swf_control_bar.c:531: attention : ‘SWFButton_addShape’ is deprecated (declared at /usr/local/include/ming.h:663)
export/swf/export_swf_control_bar.c:532: attention : ‘SWFButton_addShape’ is deprecated (declared at /usr/local/include/ming.h:663)
export/swf/export_swf_control_bar.c:560: attention : ‘compileSWFActionCode’ is deprecated (declared at /usr/local/include/ming.h:611)
export/swf/export_swf_control_bar.c:563: attention : ‘compileSWFActionCode’ is deprecated (declared at /usr/local/include/ming.h:611)
[...]
maybe it's better that i take ming-0.4.0.beta5 ? As the wiki is for an old version of salasaga, i thought i have to use the newest version of ming... wich version of ming do you use ?

Thanks a lot !

Hi Pepe,

The "deprecated" warnings aren't anything to be worried about.

Salasaga was written to work with Ming 0.3.0 and above, so in the newer versions, those warnings will appear.

It generates completely fine swf however. Smiley

I use the latest version of Ming as well (0.4.2) depending upon which system I'm on, so it's really, really, not considered a problem.

Hope that helps!
